About Me

David Story
I'm a Toronto music educator, pianist, and student of the drums. At age 50 I took up jazz drumming as a healthy response to a mid-life crisis. I make my living with the piano, but I now identify as a drummer. Over the last 14 years I’ve had the opportunity to study with some great drummers in Ontario, Kentucky, Louisiana, Poland, and Italy: Terry Clarke, Gregory Hutchinson, Ali Jackson, Lowell Whitty, Enrique Loyola, Ed Soph, Steve Barnes, Jason Tiemann, Kevin Dempsey, Hal Smith, Gerald French, and Tony Nesbitt-Larking.
